Blog Post 3_2009101_Google Reader Feeds

The following is a list of RSS feeds that I've found useful in my profession.
Some of these Feeds I will be sharing with my colleagues.

1) Educational Rap Music

This site teaches content through upbeat music that makes it fun to sing along and learn. This gives me ideas for how I can use Rap music to teach some of the content in my class.

2) MENC- Minds on Music: Composition for Creative and Critical Thinking

I chose this site because it shows how a group of learners of all ages can learn to compose music that will give meaning to their lives.

3) The Elements of Music

I find this site useful for defining musical terms and music theory.

4) The Songwriter As A Storyteller http://musiced.about.com/od/othermusicgenres/a/songwriting.htm
This site has great links to help you get started in writing a song. Students can get ideas for writing their own songs using some of the prompts that are suggested.

5) Educational Uses of Second Life

Second Life is a social network where you can interact with others. You can explore and listen to live music and share ideas.
